Welcome to the Community Donated Greenhouse Project blog site which is a intended for promoting our fundraising for community Greenhouse school. Our village, OyoTunji African Village Kingdom, is located in the Beaufort County, South Carolina in the low country, which is extremely fertile land. We have few acres of land and more than enough space to accommodate the location of a greenhouse school, parking, facilities and staffing lounge. The purpose of Community Donated Greenhouse Project is to enlighten African Americans who are striving to feed themselves by learning to grow their own organic food and herbal medicines. This facility will host classes in greenhouse gardening, farming techniques, with an emphasis on teaching students how to start their own gardens or farms for private or commercial uses. Classes will be affordable and centered around the latest technology and information in mini-farming and urban gardening. Also all proceeds earned from this project will go to support our community garden where members of the Food Security & Emergency Preparedness Association will receive significant discounts when purchasing food and herbs grown in our Greenhouse and local gardens. Further incentives for being a participant in our CDGP initiative include, discount vender licenses to our community market and African celebration festivals, which are always packed full of community supporters and travelers. Details about the fundraiser:
This fundraiser functions upon the principles of group economics. That is by working together as a group, we can finance our own institutions and support facilities, that will bring prosperity and change in the lives of those within our community. Its simple mathematics:
We will need 300 participants in this fundraiser but more would be helpful.
The 300 donors will each give/donate $30.00 a month for 6 months, an equivalent of $150.00 per donor in total. This will come to a sum of $54,000 U.S dollars per month. This money will be used to purchase the Greenhouse, which is currently priced at $36, 995.00, it doesn't come with free shipping. But we can install it virtually free by volunteer labor so no expense expected there, other than maybe tools needed to turn the screws, and water and lunch for our volunteers. It takes a couple days installation and built upon a concrete base. Further expenses includes day labor for digging a base for our concrete floor which provides foundations for the Greenhouse, plus concrete mix, etc. We will be purchasing the Texas Teaching Greenhouse which is built by Greenhouse Megastore. This Greenhouse comes as a complete package, which includes everything, when once its built we can began classes that day!

First the purpose of Greenhouses, greenhouses provide an enclosed environment that you regulate the climate. This control gives you the ability to grow almost any type of plant year round. Some plants which only grow during certain seasons can now be grown within the greenhouse out of season. This gives us endless possibilities to teach students about all sorts of exotic plants, which includes foods and herbal plants for medicine. The Texas Teaching Greenhouse is a 42 by 72 square foot enclosed environment, which comes to 3024 square feet. Not only does this wonderful Greenhouse provide enough room for teaching up to 55 students at one time but plenty of room for raised beds, trellis, and tables for plant pots. This Greenhouse has great reviews and the Greenhouse Megastore is a great company that specializes in Greenhouse supplies and structures.
